Something not working?
Reedar is made by one person. Mail usually gets a reply within a few days, and a bug report with the steps to reproduce it gets one faster.
Common questions
How do I add a reed?
Tap any empty bay in the case. It asks four things: saxophone, brand, model, strength.
How do I log a session?
Tap the reed you played, then Log session. It never asks which reed, because you picked it up to get there.
Why is my playing time lower than the time I entered?
Because a two-hour rehearsal is not two hours of wear on a reed. Reedar separates clock time from playing time, and every kind of session has an honest default for how much of it you spend actually blowing. Practice is 85%, rehearsal 45%. The slider under Actually playing overrides the estimate whenever it's wrong.
How do I move a reed to another bay?
Press and drag it. The other reeds shuffle aside to make room.
Why does the Lifespan screen say so little?
It only counts reeds you have retired, and it ignores reeds that chipped or were lost, since those say nothing about how long a model lasts. It gets more useful with every reed you finish.
What happens when I retire a reed?
It leaves the case and joins the archive, keeping every hour it played. Nothing is deleted, and you can put it back in rotation at any time from the reed's own menu.
Does Reedar sync between my devices?
Yes, through your own iCloud account, if you are signed in to iCloud on both. There is no Reedar account and no Reedar server.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. See the privacy policy.
Will Reedar support clarinet?
The app is built for it. Every reed already records which instrument it belongs to, but clarinet is not in this version.
